We are ever evolving Medusa as our personal needs change, and as our intentions and vision for this journey change.

What started out as two friends selling paddles, is slowly transforming into something broader, sexier, and more relatable - don’t worry, our paddles aren’t going anywhere!

As we walk this journey, we aim to create a safe space for us all to explore play, intimacy, and pleasure - with consent and care informing everything we do.

Yes! We love hearing about your dreams and desires and love working with you to make them a reality. We can customise products we already stock; e.g a black stained timber, wider in one spot, narrower in another.

Or have an idea for something completely new? We want to hear it!

Our focus is on crafting quality, ethical pieces for you here in Aotearoa. We work with recycled timber, mostly Rimu, giving the grain and its warm honey tones a place to shine. For the handles we use tennis grips for the original wrap handle which gives a soft cushioned grasp, and ethically sourced leather for our leather wraps (and floggers).

It can feel daunting not quite knowing where to start. We don’t have all the answers, just more questions, but I hope they can guide you to figuring out your wants and desires!

Everyones starting place is different and depends on many things. Have you/your partner/s tried impact play before? What are your experience levels? Are you after stingy, thumpy, soft & slappy, or something that can be a bit of everything? Can’t make up your mind? We also sell packages!

We recommend 100% Aotearoa beeswax to freshen up your toys every few months, or when they get a bit dry. Grab a Top Coat - the perfect aftercare for your timber & leather toys…they need it as much as we do!

Remember to clean your pieces first. Just use water and a mild dishwashing detergent. Do not soak, just a quick spritz and rinse - pat dry. Then use your Top Coat as instructed.

You can absolutely trim your flogger falls - the long bits of leather that fall ;) . We keep ours on the longer side so there is room for versatility and for everyone to have the right length.

Usually, you want your flogger to be the length of your arm - from shoulder to fingertip. But we know there are a lot of unusual folk out there, ourselves included, and this may not be your ideal length.

We encourage you to find the right length for you and the play you like to engage in. There are heaps of handy resources online, but the best way to know for sure is practice, and play!
